This really is a cottage for all seasons in an easy-to-access location wih a fabulous sandy beach for the summer and a hot tub for the winter season. And it lives up to its name with a westerly outlook for fabulous sunsets.
What a delightfully welcoming place this is with a warm feel from the moment you step inside the door. The eclectic decor evident throughout the cottage lends ambience to every room from the safari theme in the master bedroom to the collection of china in the dining room and the quirky and colourful knick knacks in the kitchen. The owner has created a lovely space for guests to relax and feel immediately at home.
If snuggling up at the end of a busy day out in the snow or down on the beach is your idea of chilling out, then you'll love the comfortable sofas and chairs in the living area. Whether winding down with TV or a DVD; relaxing with a good book, or sharing the events of the day with the family, this will no doubt be the favourite gathering place.
The cottage cook will appreciate the well-equipped kitchen with everything needed to cook up a storm. Modern appliances and plenty of work space
will bring out the gourmet chef in anyone while the onlookers will enjoy the breakfast bar so they can share the space from the sidelines! Once cooked, meals can be shared in the dining room or screened sun-room overlooking the lake and gardens.
Two of the bedrooms are on the main floor - the smaller room with a trundle bed is directly off the kitchen while the master and large bathroom are to the far end. A third bedroom is on the lower floor with direct access to outside.
The screened sun-room is home to a hot tub in winter and is transformed to a delightful spot for dining and sunset watching in summer. For outside relaxing and al fresco meals, there's a neat deck just outside the kitchen, but of course most of the action will take place down on the wide sandy beach and in the shallow warm waters of Crowe Lake. That's where you'll find the fire pit for evening camp fires too.
To the side of the cottage is an access lane for residents of a few local non-waterfront cottages, however the cottage beach is private and fenced off from the public area.
Crowe Lake is located close to the village of Marmora which has everything you need to supply your vacation needs. Besides a supermarket and LCBO and Beer Store, there’s a farmer’s market every Saturday morning; tennis courts; riverside walks; restaurants , and a nice range of stores in town. Every Thursday evening from June onwards, the main street is closed for antique car and truck displays which makes for a very popular evening out.
