There's good reason why our guests keep coming back to this outstanding property. The supremely well equipped cottage and outstanding waterfront is a combination that is hard to beat.
No description of this unique property will match the experience of walking in on the first day of your vacation. From the spacious entrance hall leading into the Muskoka room with the built-in barbecue and plenty of seating, to the expanse of windows in the living and dining area, the feeling of light and space will be the first thing you notice. Every aspect of the cottage shows attention to detail and comfort and this is evident in the living area with plush sofas and a wood burning stove for winter warming. The dining table has seating for twelve so the family can all sit down together to enjoy convivial evenings.
The kitchen is newly renovated and will delight the nominated chef, while the large dining table will easily seat 12 for convivial family meals.
We particularly liked the layout of bedrooms; the lower floor has a queen bedroom and children's room with two sets of twin bunks; the main floor has a queen off the living room, and the upper floor has a king and room with a double and two twins. With a bathroom on each floor, this accommodation is very suitable for a large family or two families vacationing together, giving lots of privacy.
Children will enjoy the family room with pool table, dart board and TV,while the top level of the house has a small reading area and door to a sun deck, so if anyone feels the need to get away for a bit of quiet time, this is just the spot.
Outside the cottage, the activity will take place on the deck and dock around the boathouse which also houses a large sauna. There are stairs from the boathouse deck down to the small beach and dock areas, with a slide on the end of the longer dock. The depth of water at the shoreline is shallow with a sand bottom and gradually deepens to around 4ft at the end of the dock. Bring your own boat, or rent one from the marina. And what could be nicer in the fall and winter than soaking in the hot tub while stargazing!
We are not sure anyone would want to leave this paradise, but if you feel the need, there's lots to do in the area in any season, from horseback riding to snowmobiling ; hiking to cross country skiing in Arrowhead Provincial Park; taking a cruise on Lake Nipissing to ice fishing. Let us know what you want to do and we'll help you find the activity.
We are sure our guests will love this cottage whether there's several feet of snow on the ground, or the sparkling waters of Horn Lake invite you to leap in and enjoy. Book early though - this one is bound to go quickly!
